Why I love hiking.

Have you ever been in the middle of a long hike and thought to yourself, Why am I actually doing this? Same. We get up one day, put on our comfiest hiking shoes, and set off into the unknown. What does the weather have in store for us (especially in the UK), what are we going to see, and who are we going to interact with? It’s all part of the magic. It’s human nature to just wander, one foot in front of the other, a nice steady plod or a real lung buster up into the mountains, whatever you’re going for that day.

Some of us like to put headphones in. Your favourite podcasts, favourite music. Some of us just like to listen to the thoughts that flow as we take in the views and the sounds of nature. For me, I prefer to do the latter, and I find the most creative ideas I have come from those times where i’m in flowstate. This is the beauty of hiking: it’s total freedom to do whatever you want, go wherever you want, and experience the natural environment. It gets you outside, keeps you fit, and transports you from the hustle and bustle of everyday life into an often childlike state of absolute freedom.

This is the beginning of an exciting new journey for me, sharing my outdoor passion with others and offering some useful tips I’ve found along my journey. Stay posted for:
